TimePlan Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded SEN school in Rochdale that is seeking a confident and adaptable SEN Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team immediately.

This specialist setting focuses primarily on supporting students with autism (ASC) and a range of additional cognitive and neurological needs. With a strong sense of community and a cohesive staff team, this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a setting that truly prioritises inclusion and student wellbeing.

The Role

As a SEN Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work while maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment. In addition, you will support teaching staff across the school, assisting with classroom activities and helping pupils access learning successfully.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering pre-prepared lessons to secondary-aged students
Managing behaviour confidently and consistently in line with school policy
Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs to remain focused and regulated
Assisting teachers within lessons when not covering classes
Promoting positive routines, engagement and independence
Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviourThis role requires strong behaviour management skills, confidence leading a class and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with students.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with young people, ideally within education or SEN
Confident leading a classroom independently
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, proactive and engaging approach
Understanding of autism and associated needs (desirable)What the School Offers
