A leading manufacturing and production company in the Ipswich area are looking for a Transport and Logistics Apprentice to join their team. The successful candidate will be assisting the Transport Manager in the daily planning and coordination of transport and logistics to support the team and optimise costs.

Promote the highest Health & Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
Work with the Transport Manager to plan & route deliveries in an efficient and cost-effective way.
Assist with Working Time Directive requirements and ensure driver infringements are monitored.
Help to ensure vehicles are serviced, inspected, and maintained regularly
Record & report all damaged and returned loads.
Assist in the utilisation of the company's lorries where possible through further loads.
Record and report additional costs relating to waiting times, delays, and haulier issues.
Offer exceptional customer service to all customers.
Ensure the sales team and customers are kept up to date with any changes to scheduled deliveries
Assist with recording transport holiday requests, sickness, and unauthorised absence.
Complete all duties within the required deadlines.
Have an understanding and awareness of the company's quality systems.
Always adhere to company practices and procedures.
Develop working relationships with all employees
Maintain the confidentiality of all company information.
To be considered for this exciting Transport and Logistics Apprentice role, you will need the following.

Strong and confident communication skills
The ability to build relationships within teams
Confidence working with IT programmes
Drive, passion, creativity and great problem solving capabilities
A commitment to be punctual, dependable and reliable.
An awareness for Health & Safety

Hours of Work – 07:00 – 16:00 (40hrs per week)
Paid overtime – Normal overtime x1.25, Sundays and Bank Holidays x2; basic rate of pay
