Learning Support Assistant for a Specialist SEND School (Southport, PR9)

The school caters for children aged 11-18 who have Autism and other MLD (moderate learning difficulties) and is based upon values and beliefs that every child should have the opportunity to learn and experience new challenges in an environment that supports them to grow and helps them realise their potential to achieve even with the extra challenges they face.

The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start after half term on a full time basis, and if they are the right fit, transition from temp-to-perm.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have a bubbly, charismatic personality with fantastic communication skills with experience and/or knowledge of moderate special needs and the ability to support across a modified and personalised school curriculum.

For the right teaching assistant, there will be the opportunity for a temp-to-perm transition.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have:

Experience with Autism and MLD.
Great communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with staff and pupils.
A good knowledge of the national curriculum.
The initiative, ability, and desire to creatively support students in lessons.
Energetic and charismatic demeanour.
