We are currently seeking experienced Positive Behaviour Support Workers to join our team and support adults with learning disabilities and individuals who display challenging behaviours, who may be on the autistic spectrum and may have complex mental health needs. This is also a great opportunity for carers (HCAs) looking to work in a different setting, who can transfer their skills.
Previous experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and behaviours that may challenge are essential due to the specific support needs of the people you will be supporting.
A new development in the Batley area has been built that consists of six bespoke bungalows for adults with learning disabilities and who may be on the autistic spectrum and/or have complex mental health needs. We will be supporting six individuals on site in innovative and high quality housing designed to enable these individuals to live as independently as possible within the community. This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals to achieve new things and make huge positive changes to their lives; many of whom will have lived in long-stay institutions and hospitals for most of their lives.
At Affinity Trust all of the people we support have a learning disability but many have associated health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disability or mental health needs.
Being a Positive Behaviour Support worker means you are integral to the day to day lives of the people you support, helping them with various activities such as assistance with personal care, household chores, meal preparation, leisure activities, social inclusion and maintaining health and well-being.
We are an equal opportunities employer that promotes diversity within our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of sexual orientation, race, age, gender, disability, religion or belief.
