We are currently seeking a Senior Research & Development Project Manager to join our Medical division to be based in The west of Ireland, this role will be responsible for leading project management efforts for the Research & Development projects through design, development, and taking to market of Medical Devices.
As previously indicated the desire and need for the Research and Development of projects to their end goal of taking to market is paramount for the organisation, the need for continual innovation and understanding of the project will be key in the potential candidates’ success in completion of duties.
Assurance of the duties of a Senior Research & Development Manager in relation to Project Management leading for assigned projects.
Lead management of projects and coordinate with technical leads for progression of projects.
Establishment and continuation of team-meetings to increase capabilities in relation to problem-solving, plan updates, decision making, escalations such as resource gaps, mitigations to non-adherence to plans.
Assist in the introduction & understanding of best practice project management methodologies.
Maintain an understanding and oversight of budget, managing potential project risks.
Generate and monitor project metrics, including ownership of communication in relation to teams & senior management.
Work well with differing cross functionality groups within the organisation to ensure effective relationships are working toward company goals.
Retrospective reviews within the project to understand potential future improvements.
Compliance with Quality, Regulatory, alongside company policies and system.
Continual mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports when required.
Continuous development, updating, and utilisation of the project stakeholder register.
Regular communication to cross-functional teams, senior management and business units leaders.
Instrumental in driving and implementing change of improve department based and company-wide performance.
Degree to Masters' level desirable, however not essential.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience within the medical device industry, coupled with proven Project Management methodology and skills.
Certified within project management essential.
Agile methodology would be preferred but not essential.
Demonstrating the ability and track record to prioritise and manage multiple project workloads, whilst showing an ability to process improvement and management skills throughout, allowing for timely completion of projects.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant medical procedures, terminology, practices and products, whilst also having a firm level of knowledge and understanding in Medical Device development from concept through to commercialisation, alongside an understanding of the manufacturing side.
Good working understanding & knowledge of medical device quality & regulatory systems and medical device directives (ISO13485 and FDA CFR 820).
Highly motivated individual whom is a self- starter with a passion for excellence, with an emphasis on the need to be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate with key stakeholders to ensure on-time deliverance of project goals.
Willingness to travel on company business.
