Kendall Poole Consulting are proud to represent a well-known manufacturing and installation Group in their search for a Production Engineer. This client has a creative approach to developing residential and commercial solutions which has helped move the industry forward providing positive outcomes ultimately for consumers and society. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, a permanent vacancy now exists for a PE. The role of the Production Engineer is to support, grow and continuously improve the manufacture of world class systems.

The Role:

* You will develop new methods of manufacture working closely with the Engineering and Production teams to influence the design for manufacture on existing and new products

* Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, automation, materials, plant and machinery

* Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment

* Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout

* Championing Lean you will provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour and material costs reviewing production schedules estimating future requirements

* Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. Liaising with staff and suppliers to ensure all engineering projects are programmed and managed through to completion

* Communicating and explaining proposed changes and creating documentation supporting new systems and processes

* Supporting the Production Team collaborating with different functions including Engineering, Design, Maintenance, Quality and Materials Planning

The Person:

* Educated to HNC or above within a production, engineering or scientific discipline you will demonstrate high levels of technical expertise in industrial/manufacturing/production or process engineering

* Experience in implementing Lean improvements, within a multi-disciplined production and assembly environment, you will have exceptional knowledge of Kaizen, Flow, 6S, Process Mapping, RCCR, SMED, Standard Operation Sheets, TPM & Visual Management. 6 Sigma is desirable

* Having a CI mindset, you will have experience within the Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics, Construction or FMCG sectors where best practice and world class standards are measured

* With well-honed Project Engineering skills you will be able to plan, organise and prioritise your work program introducing and documenting new methods of operating

* Pro-active and able to influence others you will have excellent problem solving skills with knowledge of 8D, 6 Whys etc

* Having a proactive and influencing style, you will possess strong communication skills, demonstrate a collaborative and inclusive approach with a customer focus

* You will have a right first-time mentality and be an effective team-player

* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CAD Software
