Our client is a leading fabricator of heavy steel products for the offshore energy industry. Due to recent projects won, they now require a Process Engineer to work from their busy North East hub.
Drafting and optimising construction methods for projects going into production.
Increasing the efficiency of construction methodology and flow from a view to safety and ergonomics and working cost-consciously.
Provide technical support to production and be the contact person between engineering and production.
Request project specific drawings, 3D models etc from project engineer
Drawing up building instructions for production of the specific project (step-by-step plan/cost estimate tools and locations)
Consultation with production manager, production manager, Transport and HSE about construction methods
Make corrections and changes in order if necessary.
Determine necessary tools for installation (templates, lifting frames, supports, updates).
Determining for which activities RAMS will be drawn up in consultation with HSE/Production manager/ Production manager.
Determining necessary tools and auxiliary steel
Drawing up lifting plans, taking into account the correct forces and capacities of resources
Correct and efficient preparation of construction methods
Drawing up lifting plans taking into account the forces and capacity of the resources
Follow-up of projects in production, search for efficiency improvements
Reporting irregularities to parties involved
Determine necessary tools/ auxiliary steel and have it produced (internal/external)
Develop methods to work safely
Ensure that resources can be used on time.
Working under the final responsibility of the process engineering manager
Good knowledge of structural engineering (steel)
In-depth knowledge of means of production (machinery, tools etc) raw materials and materials.
Very good knowledge of AutoCad
Similar experience in a heavy engineering process role
