The Planner, reporting to the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and reporting on project programmes in accordance with the requirements of the project. Ensuring timely coordination of project progress reporting and feedback to the project management teams.

The successful candidate will build an excellent relationship with the delivery team through regular communication and intermittent visits to project offices. A self-disciplined and organised approach is required; contract deadlines must be planned and met.

This is a site-based role, based in a major London terminal undergoing redevelopment. This is a 1-year fixed term appointment with the possibility to extend. Responsibilities Include:

Provide planning management and support to the project; Development and management of fully resources and cost loaded delivery programmes; Ensure project plans captured the full project scope and resources considered and loaded as required; Provide project programme reports and maintain progress dashboards as necessary; Report on programme performance parameters such as earned value, critical path, variance against baseline and other KPI’s; Understand and be aware of commercial aspects of the project plan.

Tasks Include:

Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans; Liaising with managers and engineers to discuss the progress of the project and address any issues that arise; Liaise with the commercial team to track change and prepare programmes to support commercial claims; Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to organize the phases of the construction development; Keep the client team up to date on progress to present to the client; Present information for internal meetings on the project.

Skills:

Proven experience of use in Oracle Primavera P6 (Version 8.3 or above), Experience on recognition and recording of any change requirements, Experience in actively measuring and monitoring performance, Strong problem solving, Strong communication including writing reports and presenting, Understanding engineering principles, Time management and planning, High Attention to detail, Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Minimum Requirements:

Trained in and experience in the principles of planning, Proven experience of Oracle Primavera P6 (Version 8.3 or above),Proven experience of team management, including planning and monitoring of activities; Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word & Excel), Full driving license

Desirable:

Piling/geotechnical experience, A Site Management background is beneficial, Good knowledge of NEC Forms of Contract, Knowledge of Aphex
