Maintenance Technician – Anaerobic Digestion

Introduction

Astute are proud to be working exclusively with our client in the renewable energy sector who are looking for a mechanically biased or multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on anaerobic digestion plant in Basingstoke. The client is a rapidly growing organisation who are looking to add to their team and help drive forward their next stage of growth and optimisation of this existing plant.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Senior Plant Supervisor, as a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

Planned and reactive maintenance on a range of heavy industrial equipment and process plant, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, CHP, agitators, mixers
Putting your own stamp on a new CMMS system and PPM schedule and aiming for a 'zero defect' environment
Carrying out day-to-day operations of the renewable energy process plant
Using SCADA control systems to monitor the process
Helping to feed the fuel into the process using mobile plant such as telehandlers
Fault finding and rectification
Continuous plant improvement opportunities – using your mechanical and electrical knowledge / skills to look for ways to further optimise the plant
Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with RAMS & having an input on RAMS & SOP's yourself
Ensuring adherence with health & safety at all times
Other duties as required
Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician with the following:

Experience in anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment or other heavy process plant is preferable
Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (such as an apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ / HNC / HND etc.)
Experience carrying out first line maintenance on process plant such as pumps & conveyors
A forklift licence or telehandler ticket would be ideal, but this is not essential as training can be provided
A great work ethic and someone with ambition – there's potential for longer term progression
Flexibility with regards to working routines
