Learning Mentor – Behaviour Mentor

ASAP Start

A large PRU in Wandsworth is recruiting an experienced Learning Mentor for a full time, ongoing position. Working hours are 8.15am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The school caters for 100 pupils aged 11-19 years old, with EHCPs for SEMH, however many students have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and SpLD. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer vocational courses and extra-curricular activities.

The selected applicants will have previous SEN experience, especially with SEMH and associated needs.

You will work on a 1:1 and small group basis leading sports sessions and various other subjects. All schemes of work and lessons will be planned by the teachers; however, you will be required to work with students who struggle in a class setting or need additional support with learning. Additional responsibilities would include supporting students during break time and in lessons. Many of the students are disengaged, therefore you will need to be resilient and calm, preparing to put in the time required to build relationships with the students you support.

For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.

Timeplan is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.
