Infrastructure Engineer – £700pd (Inside IR35) – 3 Months – Remote

Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a prestigious Public Sector organisation, who are looking to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer on an initial 3-month contract basis The core of the role is to administer the current Splunk service which is deployed on-prem and also in GCP. You will also be required to mentor, train and coach other members of the team in Splunk administration to build their knowledge/skills to sufficient levels to assist support the service. Following a hybrid working model requiring you to occasionally go to site in Newport/Titchfield.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day Software System Management
Bringing into service, operating, supporting, performance monitoring, continually improving and decommissioning Infrastructure services, products and platforms to serve a variety of user needs.
Coach, mentor or train new or existing members of the team
For the services, products and platforms supported:
Drive continuous improvement activities
Manage incidents, requests, changes and problems
Managing the configuration, availability, capacity and performance
Works with and supports third parties to provide infrastructure services
Patch/upgrade the service to support levelsKey Skills/Experience Required:

An analytical approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail
Work collaboratively within own team sharing knowledge to improve team capability
Build excellent networks among wider communities of practice, identifying and adopting best practice.
Able to co-ordinate build activities across systems and understands how to undertake and support integration testing activities.
A real drive and passion for excellent user experience, employee enablement and continuous improvement
You will have in depth administration experience of Splunk and its Enterprise Security elements. Knowledge of SOAR would be an advantage as would administering a Splunk configuration on prem and also in Splunk cloud (SaaS).
