Industrial Engineer – Headcount Planner, Hethel, Norfolk 
To perform Time Study and continuous improvement activities within all areas of Manufacturing on current and new models.To define operations headcount requirements based upon documented / recorded Hours per Car data in order to deliver to overall business plan. Ensures that the right resource is available internally when required to meet the customer volume demands.
The role is expected to self-financing within the improvements made.

The role provides the opportunity to undertake a wide range of tasks and enables the successful candidate to work with many different areas of the business. There will be opportunities to make benefits to cars business in its day to day activities and also influence the way it could operate in the future.

Coordination, Collection, data and information analysis in order to estimate costs associated with manufacturing inhouse parts.

Understands the production capacity needed by the organisation to meet changing demands and plans for future capacity requirements. Undertakes planning activities to ensure targets are met and optimises manufacturing efficiency, stock levels and costs.

 ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Duties/Responsibilities
Timing of all activities within the Production system for all models

* Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards
* Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
* Analyse specifications and capacity and undertake appropriate calculations to estimate job requirements, in terms of labour, tools, materials and resources.
* Assess existing capacity and draw up forecasts based on future plans for demand
* Gather proposals, specifications and related documents and liaise with stakeholders in order to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current in-house parts.
* Recording of new timings and store within the database systems
* Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
* Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information (PCO/Rs) to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
* Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
* Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.
* Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
* Plan and establish sequence of operations to assemble parts and vehicles and to promote efficient utilization of staff and facilities.
* Working with Production supervision to prove out new timings
* Suggesting and implementing revised methods of working including flow processes, fixturing, tooling and layout
* Support of current Manufacturing Engineers with new model introductions
* Problem solving within the Manufacturing areas
* To cover all aspects of a Manufacturing Engineer on an as required basis

Essential Criteria
HNC/ HND/ Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
Industrial Engineering experience
Used to working in a production environment

Desirable Criteria
Lean thinking or six sigma trained.
Project & Access. Lotus PPDM, PSS & DRF systems AutoCAD / Catia or other cad package.
Very good working knowledge of niche vehicle & OEM automotive industries.
