Salary: £30,608 per annum plus Veolia benefits (Additional payment of £146 per month for COTC holders). Plus use of a company van.

Hours: 42 hours per week on a roster.

Location: Various Merseyside Household Waste Recycling Centres

What will you be doing?

Recycling performance – maintain high recycling levels and seek to improve these where possible.
Manage a team of recycling assistants across Merseyside.
Evaluate manning levels and control overtime and payroll costs.
Site audit preparation & involvement.
Answer queries from the client in an efficient and timely manner. Liaise with internal and external hauliers for the collection of commodities.
Establish clear goals in order to meet recycling targets. Prevent accidents through adherence to established H&S practices.
Minimise sickness absence and handle disciplinary and grievance investigations and meetings in accordance with policy and procedure.
Accident and incident investigation.
Assist in the monitoring and control of any contractors who are working on site, ensure RAMS are checked and relevant paperwork is completed.
Adhere to corporate procedure and legislation.
Ensure toolbox talks are presented, and maintain filing system for internal and external audits.
Arrange appropriate training and instruction of the workforce in their duties.
Conduct welfare meetings and absence trigger meetings.

What are we looking for?

COTC holder (Management Level 4) desirable, but training will be provided if necessary.
Exemplary customer care skills, and ability to work closely with members of the public.
People management skills – disciplinary, grievance, absence management.
Ability to operate with members of the public. Impeccable customer service
Managing conflict and dealing with difficult people
Car driving license essential
Level of financial awareness – working within budgets.
