£35,000 – £40,000 (Depending on experience)

Workshop Recruitment have teamed up with a global leading supplier of fibre optic measurement systems based in Fareham. As a company they supply strain measurement systems to many leading Wind Turbine manufacturers, as well as customising core technology for applications in Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Marine and other markets.

They are in the market for an experienced and hands on Health and Safety advisor to join their team. The successful Health and Safety Advisor will play a key role in supporting our management systems, delivering QHSE inductions and safety training to staff, conducting risk assessments, audits and helping to promote a positive culture whilst ensuring the company adheres to all current legislation, policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Promote a positive H&S culture throughout the company and supply chain. Contribute to the Company’s H&S commitments in highlighting and promoting best practice.

Monitor and review site performance through inspections and audits.

Assist and participate in the highlighting of health-related risks and training,

Agree remedial action with the Senior Management Team on any non-conformance, and carry out follow-up review to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.

Ensure H&S Risk assessments and COSHH documentation are maintained.

Ensure all teams are aware of the risk assessment control measures and their requirements to comply with them.

Ensure safety related training is kept up to date.

Ensure full implementation of the Company’s Accident Reporting Procedure.

Ensure any relevant changes in legislation and environmental, safety techniques are communicated and implemented throughout the Company and Supply Chain.

Continual spot checks & policing of our safe systems of work.

Work alongside the H&S Administrator to ensure all the above are completed in a timely manner

Skills and Experience

IOSH & NEBOSH qualified

Knowledge or understanding of current health and safety legislation

Strong IT and numeracy skills, familiar with Word and Excel

Experience carrying out site inspections/audits

Manufacturing / Engineering / Production background (Desirable)

ISO 14001 & 9001 experience (Desirable)
