Grounds Maintenance Contract Manager

* £45k per year
We are looking for someone who is passionate about people and plants. The purpose of this role is to support our Royal Parks client in managing staff so they work productively and safely to ensure public, green spaces are maintained to the best of their potential with the resources available.
There is a strong emphasis on building close working relationships with all stakeholders including work colleagues, Friends Groups, volunteers and the Royal Parks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Manage two Supervisors and a team of 25 gardening, cleansing and GM staff.
· Delegated responsibility for the performance management and H&S of the staff.
· To arrange work schedules and working patterns to ensure best productivity and safe working.
· To ensure staff work safely at all times and that accidents and near misses are reported and measures put in place to mitigate against these.
· To inspect all contractual work to ensure the contract requirements are being achieved.
· To communicate effectively.
· Financial reporting, ensuring budgets are adhered to.
Person specification:
· Demonstrable contract management experience gained within a grounds maintenance or facilities management environment.
· In possession of horticultural qualifications.
· Full current driving licence.
· Excellent IT skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and interface with a diverse range of people.
· Excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
· To motivate and engage with staff to improve performance at work.
· A proven ability to improve parks and open spaces in line with client requirements.
· Highly accurate and well organised, able to manage and process large volumes of paperwork and work schedules.
· Able to plan ahead and ensure the specification and work schedules are met.
