This is an exciting opportunity for a recent chemistry graduate or laboratory technician to be part of a dynamic R&D team.

We are working with an established chemical manufacturing business in Rochdale that is looking to appoint a laboratory technician into its R&D team in Rochdale. As a lab technician, you will play a key role in supporting the development, formulation, and testing of existing products to clients' specifications.

To be considered you should hold a degree in chemistry or a closely related topic, possess strong laboratory skills and display excellent communication skills.

Graduate R&D Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:

Technical skills and ability to resolve problems relating to water-based and solvent-based flexographic and gravure inks, including knowledge, and understanding of raw materials and printing applications.
Prepare laboratory scale samples of inks and intermediates and test ink and raw material samples to defined standards. Daily tasks in the laboratory as required.
Follow all appropriate procedures effectively and efficiently and perform tasks within set time scales to agreed standards.
Keep accurate records of work and results, ensuring they are kept up to date and in line with the agreed policy.
Daily use of productivity software applications and specialist applications: Microsoft Office and SAP.

Graduate R&D Laboratory Technician Requirements:

Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment.
Qualified to a degree level in physical/chemical science or associated scientific subject.
Competent in the use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
Ability to devise test methods, analyse results and disseminate them in a professional and effective way.
Strong team player.
Able to take ownership and responsibility for their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development.
Ambitious and willing to learn.
