We are currently recruiting for a Fire & Security Installation Engineer to cover London and the surrounding areas (van included).

There is great development opportunities in this role and we offer continued training for our engineers.

Working hours: 8:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday

Job Purpose:

To undertake the installation of large and small Fire(Detection Alarms, Aspirating, PA/VA, & FT/DR) & Security(Access Control, CCTV, ANPR, & IDS) systems with the quality of an experienced electrician.
The role will require the engineer to conduct himself in a safe and professional manner in occupied premises with good communication skills to ensure works are delivered to the customer and employers satisfaction.
Experience and knowledge of Fire & Security systems is beneficial, and a desire to learn new technical skills with a dynamic approach is key. Duties / Responsibilities:

Installation of Fire & Security equipment and associated cabling, and containment to the relevant British Standard and compliant with governing authorities
Ownership and accountability to deliver projects from start through to handover. Manage resource, materials, and plant effectively Upkeep and on time delivery of documentation
Actively look for improvements and enhancements to provide best customer delivery and ultimately increase EMCOR's scope through instructed variations
Ensure tasks are delivered in line with contractual requirements
Maintain a strong working relationship & good communication between the client and EMCOR at all times
Ensure policies, procedures, and standards are in place and adhered to in order to maintain integrity of the contract
Comply with EMCOR Safe Working Procedures and set examples of a positive Health & Safety culture
Completion of mandatory paperwork , for weekly/monthly activities ensuring they are delivered before deadline
Be prepared to work outside of normal working hours for durations as required where site restrictions apply
All works to be completed in accordance with the relevant British Standard and good working practices
Completion of documentation required under LPS 1014 and NSI Gold accreditations

Person Specification

Proven experience within a similar role or environment
Educated to GCSE level with City & Guilds or equivalent in installation of electronic equipment
Valid full driving licence, preferably clean
A team player with the ability to work from their own initiative
Prepared to work additional hours if and when reasonably requested
City and Guilds 236 pts 1&2 electrical installation or equivalent
Proven ability to install containment and cabling specifically related to fire detection and alarm systems
Proven experience on working in industrial environments
18 th Edition Electrical qualification
Proven knowledge on relevant Fire standards BS 5839 Pt 1 – 2017, BS 6266 Pt 1 – 2013, BS 7273 Standards
Trained to FIA standards Units 1 (Fire Detection Design), Unit 4 (Installation and Testing)
