Environmental Engineer

Millbank are working in partnership with a prestigious automotive manufacturer. This role is based with St Athan, South Wales.

 
Job Purpose:

Oversee all environmental aspects at the concerned site, liaising with senior manager, senior environmental engineer and plant management to ensure all environmental legal requirements are met.  Prepare the facility for the achievement of ISO 14001:2015 certification and subsequent maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
 

Ensure the plant legal requirements are fulfilled in line with current legislation and any operational permits, to include communication of any compliance issues to senior management.
Prepare and lead the site for ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification. Once accreditation has been approved manage, control and maintain the standard.
Manage waste management contract and control waste management requirements at the site reporting waste data on a monthly basis.
Implement the company energy management strategy, reporting usage and cost data from all departments in the form of an energy brochure on a monthly basis.
Maintain the site environmental legal register along with all Council and local authority permits (Petroleum licences, paint shop permits).
Ensure environmental activities are executed within the annual Environmental budget.
Develop and implement Environmental improvement initiatives on site. 
Qualifications & Experience.

Previous experience of leading on ISO 14001: 2015 for a large organisation and preferably in a manufacturing context
Good understanding of the environmental standard ISO14001:2015
Previous experience ensuring compliance with Environmental legislation and permits.
Previous experience of implementing efficiency projects for energy and utilities.
Previous experience of managing waste contracts
Good understanding of environmental legislation connected to energy and sustainability.
Good communications skills and the ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)
Good written & oral communication to cross functional levels of the organisation.
