Due to expansion, JRS are recruiting for Engineering Manager to come and join their successful manufacturing client in Hook.

The main purpose of this role will be to lead and support the Engineering Design Team with the responsibility to ensure they work as a single cohesive team, within a well-developed set of process and procedures and management structure to ensure that our sales commitments are fulfilled in line with the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.

As the Engineering Manager you will work closely with the Head of R&D to implement the new product development roadmap ensuring your team meet the project milestones in line with the business strategy.

Duties to include (but not limited to):


* Lead the Engineering function, including people management and development, performance & KPIs to meet the needs of the business

* Guide the team on the creation and use of robust internal technical procedures, including conformity to standards such as CE/UKCA

* To provide leadership and vision within Engineering, evolving an efficient and operationally excellent environment which promotes continuous improvement, empowerment, motivation, participation and team working that allows employees to develop to their maximum potential

* To lead and remain actively involved in lean/continuous improvement activities across the site, introducing leading edge engineering tools and techniques

* To ensure the engineering team remain of the highest calibre, encouraging ongoing learning and development

* Work closely with the Head of R&D to ensure the product roadmap is implemented efficiently such that new products are manufactured in line with the agreed strategy and are produced on time and to budget

* Manage the interface between customers and GDS internal processes for the engineering group projects and new products

Required Skills

* Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team in a complex manufacturing environment

* Expert knowledge in implementing CE, EMC LV, Machinery Directive and PED compliance

* Degree Qualified in Engineering or equivalent work based experience

* Design or Manufacturing background with problem solving skills

* Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, electronically and mechanically

* Experienced within Lean Manufacturing

* Project management experience would preferable
