ABOUT THE ROLE: St Helens Chamber has a vacancy for an experienced Assessor/Skills Coach to deliver training courses in the Digital Marketing sector (up to and including Level 3).

We work with a range of public and private sector clients to develop both new and existing staff. We also work with young people aged 16-24 to equip them with the digital skills required by employers. The post will involve delivering innovative classroom workshops, as well as 1-1 sessions.


* To deliver innovative classroom-based sessions in Digital Marketing up to and including Level 3, to unemployed adults, businesses, and young people, preparing them for a career in this industry, as well as supporting those already in work to enhance their chances of career progression

* To plan and manage a seven-month Study Programme for young people looking to gain relevant qualifications, valued work experience, and begin their career within Digital Marketing

* To work towards stringent quality standards based around Ofsted requirements and EIF Framework

* To understand and follow funding rules including ESFA Adult Education Budget to ensure compliant delivery of qualifications

* To share Digital Marketing skills and knowledge with other tutors, whilst also undertaking extensive shadowing and training

* To monitor, support and assess learners’ progress against the agreed Individual Learning Plan

* To build respectful and trusting relationships with learners

* To deliver any other courses within skill set if required, such as Business Administration or Customer Service

* Agree and implement action plans with individual learners, finding the best ways to help them achieve qualifications, develop confidence and overcome barriers to remaining on programme

* Complying with contractual and company obligations and carry out learner reviews, including the monitoring of health and safety and equal opportunities

* Safeguarding the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults on training programmes to keep them safe and always follow Safeguarding policies and procedures

* To implement and review student and company records including records of company visits, reviews, action plans, registers, learning plans and evaluations and how to keep them up to date and accurate



Educated to GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

Digital Marketing (or related) qualification at Level 3 or above or equivalent industry experience

Recognised teaching qualification at Level 3 or above

Recognised Assessing qualification

Able to inspire and motivate people to progress

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal

Excellent ICT skills

Demonstrable creativity and adaptability

Awareness of Safeguarding and the professional boundaries that come alongside

working with young people or vulnerable adults

Experience of effective communication with a diverse range of people

Portfolio building


Knowledge of ESFA/ESF funding streams
