Contracts Manager – Southampton

Salary £DOE + Car Allowance + Package

A renowned Southampton based Main Contractor who is heavily involved within the luxury car showrooms sector is searching for a capable and motivated Contracts Manager to join their business.

Due to the present Contracts Manager retiring shortly they have an urgent requirement for an experienced Contracts Manager who has a main contracting background.

The company undertake various New Build and Refurbishment projects for clients such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Mini and Porsche. Project range up to the value of £10 Million.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing business in a senior capacity as a Contracts Manager overseeing the delivery of new build and refurbishment Car Showroom projects throughout the UK.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for client liaison, planning, programming and appointment of sub-contractors. You will work closely with the Site Managers, motivating and keeping control of programme and delivery. Knowledge of Groundworks, Structural Steel, Cladding and Interiors is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Program jobs and motivate site teams.

Managing and overseeing all aspects of project works.

Supervising assigned company personnel and sub-contractors.

Implementing project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.

Undertaking regular formal inspections of sites and sub-contractors work in accordance with company policy.

Preparing progress reports and technical reports for clients and for internal use.

Ensuring client satisfaction during projects and at handover.

Dealing with contractual matters.

Supporting the preparation of bids when required.

Keeping up to date with industry best practice.

Reporting to the Director.

Qualifications and Skills

MS Project.

HNC or Degree Level Qualification (Preferable not essential).

Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both customers and all levels of staff.

Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
