Salary Range: £18,700 – £21,000 depending on experience

Our Total Loss Department is looking for conscientious and empathic individuals to join the Fleet Team and provide support to our customers who have Fleet or Motorbike insurance with us, at a time when they need us the most. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic people who thrive on engaging with customers over the phone to ensure we achieve the right outcome for both customer and company. You will have your own allocated number of claims following an accident, fire or theft to manage through verbal and written communication, with verbal being the most preferred.
The main purpose of the role:
Our Total Loss Negotiators are the face and, more importantly, the voice of our business when it comes to dealing with our customers. As a Total Loss Negotiator, you will be acting as the primary contact for our Fleet and Motorbike Policy Holders who are looking to manage accident, fire and theft claims, along with negotiating the settlement of their claims. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload to ensure claims are settled in appropriate timescales dependant on the given situation, along with evaluating appropriate settlement.
Salary £18,700 increasing to £21,000 in increments on completion of our 18 months' pay progression scheme.
Main Responsibilities as Claims Handler – Total Loss:
Manage the commencement of claims ensuring the customer requirements and expectations are properly framed and understood.
Provide guidance to customers and help influence their decisions to protect claims cost and where possible provide a one stop shop.
Ensure that claims are handled in the correct technical manner, in accordance with policy cover, legal liability, and department, fraud and FCA guidelines.
Provide customers with a quality service in line with the Claims Guiding Principles.
Ensure that during the claim handling process company standards, procedures and compliance are followed.
Ensure the accuracy of reserves, present positions and recovery fields.
Provide effective internal and external communications in order to achieve a quality service in line with departmental objectives.

To be a skilful communicator, capable of dealing effectively with the full range of customer contacts from the general public through to lawyers.
The ability to negotiate, persuade and influence others to your way of thinking.
Computer literate with the ability to create written communications.
Ability to demonstrate a high standard of customer service.
