New Start are looking to recruit 2x Registered Managers for our Children’s Homes in Liverpool.
We are looking for a unique person who has the passion, drive and skills to lead and manage our home. You will have experience at management level and will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the management and leadership of teams working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is an excititng opportunity for the right candidate to build a team and open our new homes in Liverpool.
You will be expected to manage a 4 x bedded home or manage 2 x single placement homes with young people who have a multitude of complex needs and exhibit risk taking behaviour such as child sexual exploitation, county lines, alcohol and substance misuse. You will lead and manage a team to support children who regularly go missing from care and work with external agencies to identify solutions to the various social issues children face on a daily basis. You will create a nurturing environment, which focuses on reward and enjoylable activities for the young people and be proactive in securing long term placements with positive outcomes.
Furthermore, You will understand the challenges of ensuring that the home is compliant in relation to Ofsted inspections and be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in relation to overall outcomes for the children living in the home. You will be qualified at level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management and have a passion for developing your team and the young people we support.
Your ability to communicate effectively in a multi professional environment is essential alongside the ability to inspire as a leader. You will have the opportunity to shape the service strategically and to play a role as part of the overall management team in developing practice.
You will be strong, outgoing and genuine, with a desire to improve the lives of young people. You will be skilled in developing positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and remaining accepting and respectful.
This post requires dedication, flexibility and commitment, as a reflection of this we offer extensive senior management support and guidance.
The hours will be 09:00 hrs – 17:00 hrs Monday – Friday, you will also be required to be on call rota to support the service during the evenings and weekends.
In return we offer
£36000 per annum
20 days Annual Leave Per Year – Rising to 25 Days.

To hold Children, Young People & Families Manager Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Care (or equivalent).
To hold a Full Driving Licence
To have some working knowledge of childcare legislation and Safeguarding
To understand the issues associated to looked after children – CSE, County Lines, Self Harm, Attachment issues and EBD issues
To have the ability to work Collegiately, Consistently and therapeutically, in addition to managing challenging behaviour
To have two years recent experience working with children in the last five years
To have at least Three year’s supervisory experience
To have basic IT skills and knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel
A proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for the yound people in your care
