Tradewind are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor for a secondary special needs school in the Stockport area, starting ASAP, full time!
NB. You will need to be a driver to reach this school.
To join us and be successful in this Behaviour Mentor role, you will need to:
Some experience supporting children or young adults with social & emotional needs.
Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to pay for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
Minimum of two professional references.
Provide a CV with a full history from your education to present.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
Behaviour Mentor for secondary alternative provision school in the Stockport area.
You will need to be a driver to reach this school.
Supporting students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs or SEMH.
Start ASAP on a full time and long term basis with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract.
Hours are 8:45am-4:30pm.
Pay up to £90/day.
You will be required to support students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
Sometimes you will need to engage & manage pupils in corridors, outside other communcal areas & on trips.
You must provide nurturing and caring support for the students emotionally, behaviourally as well as academically.
You will need to stay calm in challenging situations and de-escalate tensions, while motivating and using lots of positive re-inforcement.
This is a secondary special needs school for pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs.
They follow a full curriculum as well as many vocational aspects of learning.
They are part of an independent care & education company with many opportunities nationwide.

Strong links with other schools, parents, outside agencies and other professionals.
Long standing leadership team that are supportive, understanding and approachable.
Accessible by car.
There is potential for people traveling by bus or train to finish their journeys close to the schol and be picked up by someone who works at the school who drives that can take you the last 2-3 miles.
Students are aged 11-16 with SEMH needs.
Some pupils come from vulnerable and challenging backgrounds so you will need to be empathetic to these situations and give pupils lots of time and space.
The new Behaviour Mentor / SEMH Teaching Assistant will need to be adaptable, resilient, patient and able to persevere over the long term.
