Behaviour Mentor

This mainstream Primary School located in the Borough of Southwark is looking for the perfect hard-working, resilient graduate to join their exceptional team! As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working alongside pupils with complex behavioural needs who require some additional guidance from a positive and assertive role model! You will support with their everyday routine and keep them engaged and motivated to learn in the classroom. This is a full time, long-term post, commencing November 2022 for the entire academic year.

** This is an ideal position for a recent Psychology/Criminology graduate who is seeking first-hand experience before pursuing a career as a Prison Liaison Officer, Therapist, Counsellor, Youth Mentor amongst others. **

Behaviour Mentor – Job role:

* Supporting children with a range of SEN to keep them engaged in the classroom

* Encourage the development of the students’ social skills

* Work within the classroom and in smaller groups to accommodate needs

* Support and comply with the school’s safeguarding procedures

* Full-time, long term position starting November 2022

* Located in the Borough of Southwark

Behaviour Mentor – Candidate Specification:

* A 2:1 or a First-class degree from a reputable University

* Genuine interest working with SEN

* Excellent communication skills and willingness to adapt

* Experience in a previous role, or personal experience in SEN is desirable

* Calm and compassionate nature
