Q Recruitment is working exclusively with a highly successful property investment firm based in Southampton as they are looking for an Assistant Accountant for their finance team.

Tasks and responsibilities:

* Purchase ledger duties: logging and filing invoices, setting up credit accounts, processing payments including monthly supplier's runs

* International payments, liaising with suppliers, placing orders; reconciling supplier's statements, dealing with any suppliers' queries

* Assisting with the month-end and year-end close process and performing reconciliations

* Sales Ledger duties: raising invoices, payment receipts

* The input of some financial transactions into SAGE

* Maintaining fixed assets register, posting depreciation journals

* Weekly subcontractor's payments

* Reconciliations: Bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany

* Liaising with operational staff and resolving finance issues

* Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required

Experience and qualifications required:

* Experienced in a similar accounts role

* Experience of working in a hands-on transactional role, preparing and posting month end journals, and performing reconciliations

* Part AAT qualified

* Knowledge of SAGE and XERO

* Strong Microsoft Excel skills

* Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office work packages

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 pa (depending on experience & qualifications)

Hours: Full-time Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
